Amanda Brugel

(February 27th of 2010 to Toronto ON) Pointe Claire is a quiet community located on this part of the island of Montreal called the West Island. It is a part of the island that has been called "the West Island." West Island has a lot of communities. People who have never known about it may think it is an island that is west-facing. It is often cited as being the place of birth for Amanda Brugel but while that is the case, her time there was not long. Brugel was a woman of a certain age within Courtice Ontario just outside Oshawa. She had a dream to dance but a growth spurt led to her growing beyond the dancers she was with. In an article from the Toronto Star she admitted In heels, I'm 6'1 inch. When I surpassed the size of my male companion and stopped dancing, I quit. Many dancers make the transition to acting. As for Bruce, it was her drama teacher who encouraged her into this path. Teacher who recommended she try to find a role in the school's annual show. She tried out and was eventually cast as the role of the main character for the role in Anne of Green Gables. She was given a Fine Arts Talent Scholarship to attend York University's Theatre Program which she completed in 2000 with a bachelor's degree in Fine Arts. Since then, Brugel has been performing in over 60 plays, large and small. One of the most memorable was the time she was cast as Rita on The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel is the sole Canadian of the Season 1 The Handmaid's Tale cast and only seen occasionally was the only Canadian.
